My little nephew's nickname is "Moose," (we are originally from Alaska), so when he turned 1, I told my brother (his dad) that I wanted to make him a moose cake. I cut out the shape of the moose's head and ears out of a half sheet cake and then made antlers out of homemade chocolate chip cookie dough. I frosted him smooth in homemade chocolate buttercream frosting and then added the eyes and other details by piping them on with vanilla buttercream. We thought it was really cute & fitting for him on such a special day.
