I used the Wilton race car pan to make this simple cake for my friend's son who was super into cars. This was devil's food chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.

- I am a stay at home mom in New Mexico with 3 awesome kids. I grew up watching my mom make cakes for all of her friends and when I had my first child I knew I would do the same. That was a little over 11 years ago. That year I asked for a Wilton tool box for Christmas and I've pretty much been doing birthday cakes for my kids and their friends ever since. I believe that cakes are probably the happiest thing in the world. The smell of a cake baking will put a smile on almost anyone's face. Baking makes me happy and provides a great stress relief in my life. I have enjoyed looking at what others have done online and borrowing some of their ideas to create cakes of my own for many years now. Now it's my turn to put some pictures up for others to enjoy. I want to say a special thank you to my friend Amy for making this site possible...without her help and encouragement, I might never have gotten around to blogging.
