As I've said in another post, my oldest child hates frosting...such a disappointment! This past year, he turned 8 and had a slumber party birthday with only 3 other boys. It was a nice size party and they had a great time. He requested a donut cake instead of a traditional cake b/c of the frosting issue. He absolutely loves donuts. So, we decided to do "cake" for breakfast right before the guests were picked up and arranged donuts from Dunkin Doughnuts on a cupcake stand. He decorated the stand with his favorite print out of Super Mario (the fire Mario) and put a cupcake pick of different video game characters on all the different donuts. It was colorful and fun and took about 5 minutes to assemble once we had donuts in hand. The boys really loved it.
Oh wow, never thought of this. My nephew who lives with us will be having his birthday next month and we were trying to figure out what way to best celebrate his birthday. This is definitely a great place to start!-K.T. http://krystros.blogspot.com/
